Tortuguero National Park One Day

Located on Costa Rica’s North Caribbean Coast, this protected area (along with Corcovado National Park) constitute the wildest and most remote areas of our country, supporting a stunning variety of wildlife just waiting for you to discover it.

Tortuguero is a very intricate and vast network of waterways bordering our Caribbean Coast. It is like a Tropical Venice. This evergreen paradise owes its name to the fact that during more than three months every year, thousands of Green Sea-Turtles come to these coasts to lay their eggs in an attempt to perpetuate their specie. All sea-turtles are considered to be endangered, so this National Park was created as an effort to protect them from human abuse and exploitation.
